1984 - George Orwell, Erich Fromm Somehow or other, I made it through high school and all of college without reading 1984. I started it today, and suddenly understand a livejournal icon I see often on my friends list in reference ... certain former president's politics. ::shudder::
To Have and to Hold - Jane Green The reviews on the cover of Jane Green's books always say incredibly clever a chick lit author she is.

Because of this, I have decided that avid readers of chick lit must be desperate for good books, because of the handful of Jane Green's that I have read, only one of the was any good, and it wasn't this one.

I find her heroines pathetic, their friends enabling and the men are all cut from the same cookie cutter in every book.

The only reason I have read as many as I did was because I thought they would get better.
